Together with three other fashion bloggers we were invited for a full-week-sleepover at the Generator Hostel in Paris during fashion week. It’s not really the typical hostel you would think of, but it combines affordable luxury rooms with unique social events and we had sooo much fun staying over there! We even took over Generators Snapchat & Instastories for four days out of the seven, which was such a cool thing to do.
The one thing that immediately stands out when you walk in, is the hostels awesome decoration. It’s sort of industrial, but always with that young, urban and fresh generator-edge. My favorite corner of the hostel was definitely the Moroccan chill-out space with artwork by Pieter Ceizer. So awesome!
We stayed in a room suitable for six people and slept in these bunk beds that reminded us of high school all over again. We had quite a few laughs about it, but we also found it very charming ;). The space however was a bit limited. We brought SO much stuff with us (I mean, being fashion bloggers and all) and we didn’t really know where to put it. Our room got messy the moment we walked in. The funniest moment we had was when we spotted all of Iris’ designer bags hanging on the bunk bed. Gucci, JW Anderson and Chanel meet hostel life ;).
The Generator hostel is closely to the Canal Saint-Martin and Buttes-Chaumont Park. If you go by the Thalys, which we didn’t, it is only a 15-minute stroll away! Taxi’s can take ages here in Paris – especially during fashion week! You can also take the sub easily as there is a ‘metropolitan’ just outside the Generators doors.
Anyways, this is exactly the place to be if you’re young and looking for a cool place to stay. There’s also a club below the hostel where you can party until morning.
p.s. I’ve recorded my very first vlog while I was over here… but I’m not entirely sure if I’m going to put it online. What do you think I should do?
