As most of you know already, blogging isn’t my full time job (…yet). I’m a Master student and I work a lot too. A lot of people ask me how I balance these things. So I figured I’d write down some tips on blogging that might help you too!
1. Bring a Notebook
I usually get the best ideas in the strangest places. And there were so many times when I forgot what those ideas were! That’s why I don’t go anywhere without a notebook. Writing it down helps you to remember it later on. If your not a fan of paper, just use the Evernote app or the notes on you phone.
2. Make a to-do list.
I use Wunderlist. This is an app you can download to you’re phone, you can browse it online and you can download the app for your computer. This way you’ll never go anywhere without your list!
3. Schedule, Schedule, Schedule
Planning is key to everything. Especially when you’re a busy bee! Same goes for blogging. I usually don’t shoot a look and then post the blog on the exact same day. Sometimes I’ll shoot two looks in one day and just plan it in advance, so I’ll know there will be enough content for a week. This way when something comes up, the blog is still getting updated.
I put down my goals in my Notebook every month. This way i’ll get reminded of my goals and I’m willing to push a little harder to reach them. My current goal? Well, I really want to reach the 30k milestone on Instagram this month, but I’m not quite sure if that’s going to happen, since it’s already the 27th ;).
5. Make time to relax
Don’t know about you, but if I work a lot my creativity goes down the drain. I really need some time to enjoy so I usually just go and have dinner with my boyfriend, go out with friends, go shopping, watch a movie, read a book and so on! You know what they say: work hard, but play harder. This really works for me and I’m a firm believer of pushing yourself, but not pushing yourself too much. You should have some time left for all the fun stuff, otherwise you should really think about changing you lifestyle.
What do you think of these tips? Do you think I should give them more often and do you have questions? Feel free to ask me anything. I’m super curious about all your opinions. ♥, S.
